"The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." - Dr Seuss

Imaginative learning through movement and play

The power of language learning begins at an early age. Tiny minds are like sponges. They absorb information quickly. And children are very curious. Curious about the world around them.

At La Ola Spanish, we take children on an enchanting learning adventure through jungles and to outer space. They become superheroes and magicians. Children learn best when they are having fun, and by combining imagination, movement and language learning, all our learners have lots of fun.

"A little magic can take you a long way"- Roald Dahl

Learning a second language is like having a superpower. There are benefits for all ages.

Enhances Creativity

Learning a second language allows people to see the world in a different way. Language skills help boost creativity and problem-solving. Studies show that bilingual people are more able to think outside of the box.

Boosts the brain

For children, this means they become smarter. Even for babies under the age of 1, exposing them to different languages gives their brains a mental workout which provides them with practice in focusing their concentration. For adults, it keeps you smart. Research is now showing that speaking more than one language can increase the number of neural pathways in the brain no matter what age you are. Having to think and select from more than one language keeps your brain active.

Increases confidence

To be able to master a new language, you have to speak it. This involves communicating with others. You can't be shy. Language classes encourage safe participation where people want to practice, and it doesn't matter if you make a mistake. This 'just-go-for-it' approach boosts confidence.

Expands Horizons

Academic grades are higher amongst multilingual children. It's a fact. And the higher the grade, the more options available as an adult. Career choices are widened, but so are life choices. Speaking a second language means you are more likely to travel and experience new cultures.

Cultural Connections

We are now a global society and introducing children to the world at an early age provides curiosity, empathy and tolerance. The link between language and culture means learning a second (or third) language helps shape how we view the world.

Fun and Laughter

Learning something new is fun. Learning a brand new language means the learner is exploring something new with each lesson. New words and phrases are being introduced, along with different cultural traditions. Having fun improves our learning and makes us more curious.

What our parents say about us:

My son has thoroughly enjoyed Ekids Spanish classes, Patricia is a wonderful teacher who keeps the children both engaged and entertained throughout the sessions. I would highly recommend her classes to anyone, I can already see the progress in my son and his confidence overall has improved too...win/win!

Pat’s classes are one of the absolute highlights of our week. She is fantastic: totally engaged, brilliantly creative, wonderfully kind. Our son adores learning all the themed songs and looks forward to the sessions with wild anticipation! We cannot recommend her highly enough.

We've been going to Patricia’s Spanish lessons since my daughter was only a few months old, and we love them! They are a lot of fun and creative. In every lesson, she uses a wide range of resources to stimulate the children, such as stories, songs, maracas, puppets, bubbles. This is a great way to play and learn a language. We never get bored with her. Muchas gracias!
